Hello, I'm Maddie McCleary!
I'm people-oriented producer with independent film and TV experience. I have extensive experience relating to collaboration with various disciplines, and I'm familiar with both animated and live action asset organization. I have strong written and oral communication skills and experience editing footage. For my education, I have backgrounds in English, Psychology, Animation, Project Management, and Film and I utilize those skills to improve production in innovative ways.
My portfolio has work that I've done as a producer, a project lead, an animator, illustrator, storyboarder, and puppeteer. These diverse skills have equipped me to understand all facets of creative work, and taught me how to best manage creative voices. I hope you enjoy my portfolio, and I'm excited to see what's next!

For Blue Paper, I produced and directed a capstone stop-motion animation tribute to David Lynch and noir. I pitched the idea for the project in front of a large audience. I led project meetings and cross-coordinated work across my team. I also organized and created paper assets for the project and organized digital file assets.

On Funny Business, I spearheaded the animation and live-action paper puppet work. I took notes on any meetings pertaining to animation or puppets, built sets and assembled props to ensure quality lighting and shot choices, and acted as an animation pipeline expert. I also managed physical assets such as puppets and sets as well as digital assets such as animation takes and original footage.

I taught a puppeteering team how to operate sock puppets, built sets, helped scout for locations for outdoor shoots, and worked on the logistics of filming in a public location. In addition, I oversaw the creation, editing, and distribution of the project.
