THE WITCHER, GENSHIN IMPACT, AND OPEN WORLDS
So I do this thing where I make impulsize video game spending decisions when there is a sale, and I was able to snatch Wild Hunt a couple of months ago for like $30. I really like The Witcher the show (sorry not sorry), so I was excited to play the game for it. Right now I'm in Velen working on the Bloody Baron quest, and I'm struggling with the free-roam. This is an extremely personal thing, and not a dig at the game, but I get overwhelmed really easily with free world stuff. It's mainly because I have this primal need to explore absolutely everything.
It's kind of why I can barely play Genshin Impact right now. Back in the days of yore in Genshin when I downloaded the game (V1.2) there wasn't really a lot to do. There weren't overly complex puzzles- finding the anemoculous and the geoculous were the worst parts. I stopped playing a little after Sumeru's THIRD UPDATE (I hate Sumeru) because my phone couldn't take any more storage and it would nearly explode every time I ran the game. The rant about Genshin will be saved for a later date, but I'm worried that the Witcher is going to have the same effect on me.
One thing that is really good about it is that I love Jaskier (Dandelion) so much that I will play through the whole game JUST to see him in the Blood and Wine expansion. I know he shows up in Novigrad, but I would do anything for that man.
I'll update this post when I get further in the game, but right now I am terrified of burnout and of being unable to understand the world's politics (I thought Emyhr was Cahir from the show for a hot second and I barely remember Radovid).
